Publisher embedding a word doc

trying to embed a word doc and get the response "publisher cannot launch or
communicate with the OLE server needed to complete this task. I have Windows
XP Prof and Publisher 03 (as part of Microsoft Office Professional)

Likely a Anti-Virus program issue. The worst one being Norton. Try this

Thanks - I updated my Norton antivirus & when that didn't
work, I diabled the Office checks. Still not working. Any
other ideas?

I figured it was Norton.
Turn off Norton and then try it.
If that doesn't resolve it then create a new document and test with it to
see if you reproduce the problem. Reason being that Norton will corrupt OLE
containers. So you might have a bad file.
