Publisher 2003 FTP Proxy Settings

| When trying to add my URL so that I could publish to it, I received an error
that said that I cannot connect to the FTP server, my FTP Proxy settings need
to be changed. When I went to
http://pubs.logicalexpressions.com/...icle.asp?ID=324 to
troubleshoot, the directions were not correct for my version of Publisher.
Help!
Thanks!!

| If you are using Pub 2003 then the upload article is applicable.
If your PC is behind a firewall then speak to your admin about FTP port
privileges or use the http protocol for uploading. Proxy server is not
Publisher, that's your network, talk to your network admin.

| I have the exact problem, so am interested in the reply. I created a web
folder on the desktop and published to the folder, then transferred the
folder to the FTP server. Problem is, none of my links work, so am very
frustrated. Nothing anyone suggests seems to work. Have written in before
in a previous thread.

| When uploading the way you did it is common to fail to upload all the site
files and then it doesn't work. You should do all uploading thru Publisher.
Upload directions can be found in Pub help or on my publishermvps.com web
site.

| I am doing this at home for my personal family website, so I am the network
administrator. Unfortunately, I am not as smart as I probably should be on
this subject, so please bear with me.
I'm not even sure if my PC is behind a firewall ?? I do know that when I
followed the instructions on how to change the proxy settings, the
instructions were giving me options that my computer was not. I am using
Windows XP. I am also using McAfee anti virus software so perhaps I am
behind a firewall. My next step is to check on
that.................................

| OK, I disabled my firewall and tried again - that didn't work. In one of the
replies David said to use http protocol for uploading. How do you do that?
Thanks in advance for helping me!!!!!!
