Hi
I've just helped someone set up a website using publisher 97 (not recommended) see http://www.greeneggs.net.au/index.html
For some reason when I insert jpeg photos into the sight, publisher seems to convert them to gifs. Why is this so? Is there anything I can do to change this occurrence?

I think it's the normal process of the images when Publisher creates the
html files. Is there something about the gif files that cause a problem?

The same thing happens with my site using Publisher 2000.

Publisher 2000 and prior will create a gif image from a jpeg image if the
image is layered or overlapping another object. See my FAQ page on this
http://www.davidbartosik.com/faq.htm and also refer to
http://www.davidbartosik.com/pub2k.htm for articles pertaining to working
with images.
