Author How to launch google earth from page

Yes I'm lost. I have a Google Earth .kml file that I would like to
put in a web page so that when the user clicks the file's link, Google
Earth (assuming the user has it installed) will be launched using the
contents of the .kml file.

Is there a way to accomplish this solely from FrontPage (in other
words, no scripting or such required)?

Many thanks in advance for anyone who can educate me.

as this is not a FP related issue.

You need to contact Google Earth on how to create links to .kml file from a web site, etc.

I'll take a look at the link you provided. I have to disagree with
your assessment that this is not an FP issue however. Its a generic
question; how do I go about launching an application from FP? I've
been to other pages and when I click a link, I get a dialog box asking
if I want to run the app, or download the data. This is what I'm
trying to learn how to do.

It is not a FP issue,

You create a link just like you would any other link, how the link react when clicked is based on
the user browser / OS and if the users has a application installed that understand the file type.
