| More than a year ago I set up a site with the 'index.htm' having a hit
counter on it using FP '98.
Had to do some changes this month and got a message box telling me that the
pages being loaded had dynamic elements and that the provider didn't have FP
extensions available.
When I loaded the new 'index.htm' up, the counter no longer functioned.
Renaming an old page already on the site and it would work. Any page that I
uploaded with a counter did not work.
It there a change to the FP extensions I should be aware of? Does the site
need to be reconstructed with a newer version of FP.
Thanks,
Doug Sanders

| Are you publishing with http or FTP? If publishing with FTP, you will
be warned about active elements that require the extensions. The Hit
Counter has not changed since FP98.

The hit counter requires the FP server extensions.

| I checked with the provider and they ran some tests confirming everything is
correct on their end.
They tested it with an older page I had left on the web and it worked.
When I downloaded the page, corrected/updated some text, uploaded it again
and it no longer worked.
Any ideas?

| The site is www.mcdonaldservices.com The page is
www.mcdonaldservices.com\index.htm
The page will roll to the home.html page after about 8 seconds.
Thanks for you interest.

| It appears to me that there's an error in the path the hit counter bot is
using:
SRC="_vti_bin/fpcount.exe/mcdonald0x/?Page=index.htm
What is mcdonald0x ??
Try opening site in FP, open the live page, remove the hit counter and save
the page.
Reinsert the hit counter and save the page.
Want to make / use a custom image for the hit counter??
Try this: http://www.95isalive.com/fixes/HitMeFP.htm
