| how do I get meta-tags in my website so the search engines will find our
site? I am not a pro with web development but can't afford to hire one for
our ministry - so if any one can help me understand how to do it I would
really appreciate it...
in peace,

| 1. Right click on your page then go to "page properties"
2. Complete the "Title field" which will be your poage title in internet
explorer when someone is viewing your page. Each page can have a unique
title
3. Describe your page in brief in the "page description", this is where you
get the 1 or 2 line descriptions next to your web address in search engine
results
4. Than the keywords go below that. Choose as many as, say 25 different
words that closely describe what your website is about, eg. flash games,
games, online games, free online games, games
Hope this helps.

Most search engines no longer use meta tags. You should register your
site with the various search engines.

| Should say 'most search engines no longer use the keyword meta'. They all
use the description, but not for page ranking.
Also, registering with search engines is usually unnecessary - all you need
is a link to the site from a page that has already been spidered.

| Search engines still use the title and description tags.

It's still wise to register with the search engines.
By the way, I always list my web site in posts like this to increase
my visibility to search engines.

| Not likely you will get any spin from listing your sites in your posts.
I haven't registered a site with search engines in years. They are always
spidered within two weeks of going live.

It makes a lot of difference as to how near the top of the list of
search results that you site reaches. Most people want their site to
be easily found.
