How do i delay the loading of the website

| hi, i made a website but its slightly larger then it sould be so it takes
longer to load the whole site, when you click on it it loads picutre by
picture so its extremaly slow, i was wondering if theres a way of delaying it
so for example, "wait 10 seconds intill opening the site" if anyone can help
ill be highly thankfull thanks!

| Have you optimized the images using an image editor such as the free IrfanView.
You can reduce the file size of an 800 x 600 jpg image to somewhere around
40kb.
Also, make sure you are "Not" using .bmp images in your web site.
Post a link to the site and possibly someone can give you some more help.

| Do you think anyone will actually wait?
Why not optimize your images so the page loads faster(?).

Steve and Rob have given you good answers - I just wanted to add, no,
there's no good way to do what you're asking anyway.
