Author New Window target frames - Help!

sFor a discography site I run, I want a uder to be able to click on a
thumbnail making a new window pop up that only shows a larger version of the
picture. I have set the Target frame to New Window, but it opens a whole new
cluncky window with all the tabs and address boxes, etc. I've seen sites that
have this function but a slim window (essentially a thin frame), the size of
the image, pops up with just a frame. How can I do this on FrontPage?

Please can someone help as I have exhausted my efforts in trying to solve
this.

Many thanks

Hi,

To do that you will first want to have the full-sized image be in its own
page. Once you have done that you can use a tool like Spawn from Jimco:

http://jimcosoftware.com/addins.aspx

Or you could use a generator such as:

http://echoecho.com/toolpopupgenerator.htm

To specify the size, location, whether toolbars are shown or not, etc when
the link to the page is clicked.

Hi Joe,

Thanks for replying! Does this mean that I cannot do this function within
FrontPage itself, but have to load another programme to do it?

So, to be clear, there is no way I can make another image pop up in its own
simple window sized according to the size of the pic without first making it
have its own html page and then using an outside tool?

It's such a simple thing, yet I am suprised FrontPage cannot do it alone.

Kind regards

Well it depends.. if you know how to write Javascript code you can do it
directly by writing the Javascript in FrontPage in code view. (The 2 links I
gave you will create the Javascript needed for you) There isn't anything in
FrontPage in WYSIWYG type mode however to create the needed Javascript.
