How to copy Frontpage 2000 from ftp server onto CD-R?

I created a Frontpage 2000 web page for my school and it is on our district's
server, which does not have Frontpage extensions. When I tried to copy it to
a CD-R and save it to my new Dell's C drive, only parts of the original file
had copied. Then, when I made changes to a page and tried to publish it to
the district server, a message said it couldn't because the file name had
spaces. I think there are at least 2 issues: how do I completely copy my
original web page, and can I change the file name without messing up its
location on the district server? I was able to make changes before but that
was on my old computer, where I had the original stored. Question 3: should I
copy the original files from the old computer instead of the district server?

The spaces in file names will cause errors in navigation for some browsers and break links in FP
- remove them and republish to your school server
- using whatever upload tool you used before (FTP), or see

Yes the best place to edit the pages is in FP in you local original disc based site

On your old computer, create a new folder, say C:\mysite.
Open the website in FrontPage and publish it to C:\mysite.
zip the new folder and website (use WinZip or send to compressed folder if
the OS supports that) and burn the zip file to a CD, or other media (floppy
disc, etc) if it will fit.

On the new computer, extract the zip file to C:\mysite.
Open the web in FrontPage and publish to wherever you want it on your hard
disc.

Publishing ensures you get every file correctly, and using zip files
removes problems associated with read-only files you get when using CD-R.

Alternatively, you could get the files from the School server (use a network
share if available, or FTP otherwise - do NOT import; importing will not
guarantee every file is downloaded), but since the server does not support
server extensions you will have to redo all themes, shared borders, include
pages, and navigation.
