Author Navigation Toolbars not loading properly
Orcas Unlimited

Only certain links on my link bar appear on the website. On the others, the
image doesn't load (the link still works). My method of creating the toolbar
was to go to index.htm in design view, and use Insert>Navigation>Link Bar. I
chose "Child Pages under Home" and checked the box to include Home Page. The
link bar looks great when I preview the website in a browser, but after a
lengthy upload, I'm left with what you see on www.orcasunlimited.com .
Please help!

When I enter www.orcasunlimited.com on the above link, it shows No FP
extensions. Could this be the problem?

For Susan: Hmmm...my host claims to have FP extensions. Is this something
that sometimes needs to be reset?

For Rick Budde: I can't find how to publish using http in any help menus or
FAQs. Is there a common language term for it, like "remote web site?" If, as
Susan said, my host doesn't support FP extensions, will publishing with http
solve anything?

Thank you both for your support...

To publish via FP's http mode, do following:

File Menu | Publish Site and enter the URL as:

http://www.yourdomainname.com

To see if your site has the FP extensions, open live/remote site in IE, then File Menu | Edit With
FP, and if you are prompted to login, then the extensions are installed and configured correctly. If
you get your page and are not prompted for a login, then you host need to fix the permissions on
your account.

dnswiz.com gives false negatives. It says that *my* site does not have
extensions, which is not correct.
However, the (lack of) page http://www.orcasunlimited.com/_vti_inf.html
indicates that the extensions are not installed.

The left border has a link bar set to display links as text/HTML, not
images.
However, _borders/left.htm does have code to preload lots of interactive
button images that are not used anywhere, plus other bits of JavaScript in
the <head> section that, again, are not referenced in the <body> section.
This JavaScript and the image preloads will not be placed on any other pages
using the left border.

As far as I can see the left border is doing exactly what it should do.
Please specify the problem and a page it shows on.

FYI - Using Word to produce your pages is not a good idea. The About page
contains a mass of styles that do nothing, and the fonts (even if installed)
will not work since the styles specifying them are corrupted. An embedded
or external style sheet will be much easier to deal with.

Don't understand
I see your left shared border w/ it's 7 links on all pages
There is no theme because you have applied none as the default
<meta name="Microsoft Theme" content="none, default">
Reapply the theme to each page
If you mean the interactive buttons, they need to be applied to each page (not your shared border)
