How to play movies in html-pages with a mouse click.
|
|
|
| When I open my HTML-pages made in FrontPage 2003.
AVI & MPG, are played directly... in the same page.
(For I only know to install these files with the <embed>
function.) (I tried and tried the Plug-In & ActiveX-control
in FrontPage, but without success.)
RAM & MOV, will only be played by a click, but Not in
the page. (For I can only activate them with a hyper-
link.) (Here again I tried the Plug-In & ActiveX-control in
FrontPage but without success.)
Can someone give me a hint how to play these movies in
* with a mouse click * in the same page
Thanks Ruud

| There's not a good answer for this, because it depends on
what version of what software is installed on the Web
visitor's computer.
You can regain some some control by fiddling with ActiveX
or <embed> settings, but if the visitor has AVI and MPG
rigged to play in Windows Media Player, and RAM & MOV in
Quicktime or some other player, you should expect some
divergence in behavior.
One solution, of course, is to convert all your video
files into the same format.
You may find some additional help at:

| Thanks Jim,
I already convert a lot to AVI (RAM,RM is still difficult)
But the mouse-click solution on AVI is not there. This is
especially necessary when you have more (small) movies
on one page.

| Jim,
What you wrote on your Web-page, I fiddled for years!
But Plug-In or Windows Media Player never worked.
I'm not talking about publishing to a web, but showing
the movies in HTML-pages on my own PC.
Greetings Ruud
If possible can you give me a page as example...
from you or on the Net.

but they all play directly, when you start the page.
I'll look around, perhaps i'll find.
