| I want to know which version of Frontpage I can buy to
work with my other Microsoft s/w.
My XP Office Professional software came packaged with
Publisher but not Frontpage. The modules included in my
XP Office set are all 2002 versions. Outlook, Excel,
Word, Powerpoint, Publisher.
I am now being told that only Frontpage 2003 is available
for sale. And that this will only work with 2003
versions of all other Microsoft s/w. And that therefore
I must purchase upgrades of my Office XP s/w in order to
be able to buy and install an available version of
Frontpage. This is significantly increasing the cost to
acquire Frontpage. Furthermore, I am focused on one
current page - my website - and I do not want to spend
time now installing and getting used to new Office
versions of all my other software. If this is true,
Microsoft have made acquiring Frontpage only very
complicated for a new user. I'll have to consider an non-
Microsoft package (not my first choice!!).
Microsoft surely must have a version of Frontpage
available that will be compatible with my current
software, without me needing to upgrade to 2003 versions
of all my other software!!!!!
So, please.. what version of Frontpage do I need, how do
I get it, and how much will it cost?

| Frontpage 2003 will work just fine with the software you have.

| you don't *need* office to use Frontpage - it is a stand alone product however,
the integration with the other office 2003 suite products will obviously
integrate better, i.e. if you use FP 2003 and want to use databases then you
would use Access 2003, or excel 2003 etc etc.
Frontpage is sold separately not as part of any of the MS Office suites (even
prior to Office 2003 it was still sold separately).

| You can just buy FP 2003 and use it w/o upgrading Office XP,
- but when you install FP2003 do a custom install and do not install any of the MS Office common tools / files
(they are not supported by Office XP and will create problems for your Office XP programs if installed)
PS
If you experience any Office XP errors after installing FP 2003 just reinstall Office XP (or run a repair on it)
