Behaviors - OnClick Open Browser Window
|

| We are using FP2003 Behaviors to open images in a new window without all the
fancy menus and the like. However, we notice that when you hover over the
image, the cursor doesn't change into the hand/finger alerting you that this
graphic is clickable/hyperlinked.
What we do know, in the Alt text field, we have to put in text "Click here
to see larger image of this graphic" or some form of this text to alert the
user that this image is clickable.
Now the question, can this behavior be change so that the cursor will change
when you hover over the graphic or is this some weird function within FP2003
to disallow this?
When you do a picture properties menu and change the hyperlink location and
frame, the cursor will change, but the image opens with all the menus and
other things, which we are not wanting to happen so we are using the
Behaviors to do this.
We have heard and tried Spawn, but wish not to use it, as every time we use
it, it takes for ever to load our web before we can use it.
Any help would be appreciated.

| Hi,
you shouldn't apply this behavior directly to an image. Firstly for the
reason you mentioned, secondly because old browsers (NN4) won't recognise
it. Firstly add a null link to the image - click the image hit Ctrl + K to
hyperlink it and type "java script:;" without the quotes into the dialog now
when you apply the behavior after clicking on the image and selecting event
you'll see an entry for events for <a> choose the event you want -
presumably onclick

| Thanks that works great!!! We just now have to remember these steps!!
I'll have to create some code snippets for this that we can just copy and
paste when we need them!!
