| Once you have opened the online site in FP, to get it on your PC use
File Publish Web/Site and browse to a local existing top level folder on your PC like say C:\wwwTheSite (no spaces or punctuation)
as a disc based web*
Then in FP open the local site (File Open Web/Site and browse to C:\wwwTheSite
When done editing, save and close all pages in your FP Web and use File Publish to the online url using http://www.thesitename.com/
* if the site uses server side technology (.asp) you may need to run a local server based web under the FP SE and localhost
Recommend before you start you get & run the FP Tutorial at

| I am assuming responsibility for an existing web site that uses Front Page Extensions. The site resides on an ISP. I have used
Front Page 2000 for a little web page editing but not for webmaster tasks before. I can open the web site using the File > Open Web
menu option and see the folders and files.

| Can anyone please recommend an approach for setting up my client computer so my computer and the web site are "synch'ed up" for
publishing updates to the site? I don't want to do anything with Front Page that might negatively impact the site. Do I need to
download everything from the web site to my computer to establish a base-line for updates? Should I directly update the pages on
the site or work on local copies of the pages and then republish to the site?

| Thanks,
| Paul
