Author Updating FP Site from two different computers

I have a website that I maintain and update using FP.
I have another colleague who would also like to make
updates to the website also using FP from a different
location.
Is this easy to do? What is the best way to keep our
local copies of frontpage up to date?
When publishing will frontpage synchronize changes
automatically based on time files were updated?

Either you both work only in the online Site in FP (you can use document check out / check in to prevent conflicts)
- not recommended since any error may clobber your live site

Or before each work session open the Online site in FP and Publish changes to your local, then after editing Publish back to the
online Site
- some coordination is required to make sure you both aren't working at the same time
Or divide the web into subwebs and each work w/ a portion of the web
