Hey ,

I am stuck with another problem that I believe need to be addressed on this
forum. As earlier, I appreciate all answers very much.

My question is how can one autosize swf file that is displayed on different
computers(read browsers).

What does this mean?
I m seeking a way to get the page to always fit the computer's browser
regardless of the user's resolution capabilities.

So if someone has a smalller screen (for instance a laptop screen) he will not
be able to fit the original size of homepage(the swf) on his screen
scroll-free. Therefore, I would want the page to automatically adjust to a size
that makes it fit on the (laptop) screen so that no scrolling will be needed.

Is there a way to program this?

This issue comes up fairly ofen. ;) Thankfully, there are a number of
solutions.

The most basic approach is to consider your various options under the
Publish Settings. Go to File > Publish Settings, HTML tab, and look at the
Scale area. You'll see a drop-down menu with four choices: Show All (the
default), No Border, Exact Fit, and No Scale. Each of these treats the SWF
differently, and it's pretty easy to see the variety simply by trying them
all. Draw a couple shapes on the Stage, then publish in order to see the
HTML document that contains the SWF. In the Dimenions area of this same
HTML tab, change the setting from Match Movie to Percentage. The four Scale
choices come into play when the SWF is embedded via percent (the usual
choice is 100% x 100%), rather than by pixel.

Your Scale options will do it, but keep in mind, they're an all or
nothing approach. If you choose anything but No Scale, your SWF will resize
uniformly to match the HTML page (the browser view port) it's in. Some of
the settings maintain the SWF's original aspect ratio; one of them does not.

Yes, there's a way to program this as well, which allows you to
programmatically move or resize certain elements while others are left
untouched. You might go this route, for example, to always keep a logo in
the upper right corner, while resizing a background image and
resizing/repositioning a dynamic text field (sky's the limit ... up to
whatever you want to code for).

Here's a brief overview for AcitonScript 2.0:
