Author Flash nav tree rolloff?

The web site page above is all Flash. I have created a movie holding the nav.
It contains 6 nav buttons and their corresponding arrays (which are groups of
other nav buttons). If one 'rolls on' any of the 6 buttons, those buttons will
'goTo' display their corresponding array on the timeline.

This issue is that I want the arrays to stop displaying once the user has
'rolled off', but if I use an 'on rolloff (goTo frame1)' the main 6 buttons
won't display their arrays. If I try it on the array buttons, there are other
complications (arrays go away, etc.).

I tried creating an invisible button (as large as an array) to lay under or
over the array with a 'rolloff (goTo)', but if it's placed under the array it
doesn't work, and if it's over it the individual array buttons won't work.

What to do?

My action scripting skill is minimal (but I got this far). Any suggestions
greatly appreciated.

there isn't one array to be found... and you are scripting in a very old
fashion, which makes it more difficult. sorry, can't help you on this one, I
just don't have the time to dive into this.. I can't think of any way to do
this, you can't use hitTest as it's only available to MovieClips, and even
checking the _xmouse and _ymouse wouldn't work because you'll still need
something for when you roll off the sub menus... Sorry.

Thanks for the help anyway.

I guess they aren't 'arrays' in a strict sense (they are groups of buttons found in the "navMovie".

I'm a novice at action script and have now discovered my use of the term ARRAY
is very misleading. I have not used any arrays. I have a movie clip timeline
with sets of buttons placed in it. Clicking on a button will "goTo" a point in
the timeline where a group of buttons is displayed (or not displayed as the
case may be). All the buttons have scripts for rollover and release. I can't
use a rolloff, because in the present construction, the 6 main buttons (on
rollover) display a (subset) group of buttons, but rolling off any of the 6
would "goTo" another point in the timeline that does NOT display the grouping.

Sorry for the confusion. Maybe I need to take a whole new approach to this,
and if so I would entertain any suggestions people might have.

Thanks for your time.
