Adding new layers and tweens in Flash

| Hi,
I'm new to flash and need help. I am creating a new website based of of a
template. This template plays a flash animation at the top frame. Basically, it
plays an animation of some 5 words that are contained in a separate text file
(each word on one line).
What i am trying do do is to extend these 5 words to 8 words. To do this, I
opened up the .fla file and managed to copy the last layer into a new line and
then pushed the start of the new layer to where the previous one (the one that
i just copied) ended. I then renamed the new layer as Phrase6, say. I then
repeated this for the 7th and 8th new layers
The nightmare i'm having is that even though my text file contains my extended
list of words (8) and the .fla file has the newly copied layer (renamed), when
i preview, the 6th, 7th and 8th texts keep playing as the 5th word. I then
managed to find where to change the text that is associated with each layer
(var, i guess) but then anytime i changed the text asociated with any of the
last 4 layers (the one i copied plus the 3 new ones) all the 4 keep repeating
the same text.
What I realize is that even though I renamed the newly copied layers, they are
still appearing as an "instance of" the tween of the one that i copied from.
Can anyone help me correct this? How can i create a new tween (based on the
last tween which came with the template) and how do I associate with the new
layers?

| Hello,
You cannot just copy, when you copy if you change the text it will vhanged on
all...*
insde the library, select the mc you want and rather than copy, Duplicate,
then change the name in the lybrary...
Create a new layer on your animation and bring the new duplicated on to the
stage where you need it...
Hope this helps
Regards
G.
