Object tree in Flash 8

| I'm brand new to Flash 8 - I'm working on a complicated Flash 8 file, and
trying to figure out how it works. To map the objects so I can trace which
objects belong to which timelines. I've been putting a tree together in
notepad, like this:
OBJECT LAYER DESCRIPTION
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------
Page1 Pages Whole page
Scroll Layer 6 FS movie
MC_timeline_holder timeline Holder for FS
etc...
Isn't there a way to view this information in Flash 8?

You might be referring to Debug > List Objects and/or Debug > List
Variables, accessed from the File menu of the SWF itself while in the IDE.
To get to that file menu, you'd have to text your movie first Control > Test
Movie, then look at the file menu in the new window.
