| I need help finding information about this in the help, etc - I assume it's
explained somewhere but I don't think I'm using the right terms to search
because I'm not finding it anywhere in the help, forums, etc.
Basically I have a flash (studio 8) website, it has a row of buttons across
the bottom and clicking a button is supposed to move a pendulum from where ever
it is on the stage to hover over the button that was just clicked. Then the
pendulum populates with sub-menu items relevant to the main button. So, the
NEWS button is on one end, you click that, the pendulum moves from whatever
button it was previously over (or the starting position if it's the first
click) and hovers over NEWS and populates with 'press releases', 'current
shows', etc where the user can click and link to the actual information.
What I cant figure out is how to code/select/indicate that movement behavior
into the pendulum &/or the main buttons, whether it's via actionscript or
something that can be done without getting into that. i've been looking through
the tutorials, samples, etc, and haven't found anything that does this butI
know I've seen it on sites before.
I'm not so much looking for the answer (though if it's something simple that
would be nice), as much as for what terms to search under to find documentation
on doing this, or a sample, or a tutorial, or ?
Thanks in advance.

| All you really need to do is define x (and y if necessary) targets based on the
button that was clicked, and then do an AS Tween to the new positions. As far
as how to manage the code, you can make it flexible by definiing your targets
based on the position of the clicked button, or you can just hard code it in,
whichever fits your situation better. If you post a file, I can give you some
more specific pointers.
