:confused;
Hello everyone,

My goal is to add video to my website with a medium size flash playback
component. I would say somewhere between 320 x 240 ? 720 x 480. I am
searching for the best practice for transferring files into Flash and then to
the site. Here is the current workflow, I would appreciate any feedback on how
to refine the process ? playback component size, streaming vs. progressive,
bandwidth considerations, etc. Again, just looking for an overall best
practice.

1. Files off the camera as .mpeg
2. Edit in Vegas Movie Stuido
3. Rendered as .avi (uncompressed)
4. Encoded in Flash Pro 8 ? (default settings)

Thanks for your help
Randy

I would take other advice also, however, this is what I do.

1. choose progressive, this loads the movie as it plays and is the best for
visitors. This is what Flash 8 made so easy for us by offering this option.
Unless of course you have a flash streaming server. If you edit in Vegas, I
have had problems exporting to mpeg2 and then encoding with Flash 8, the video
comes out upside down, so I always export to mpeg1. Never avi as the file size
is way to large. I always choose highest quality for video. The size is up to
you, however, the more information the more loading issues your users would
experience. I usually render to 320x240 or 352x240.
