Author FTP Component?

Every year now for the past few years I keep checking to see if anyone has
built an FTP component for Flash that will allow file uploads and downloads to
someone's computer from within the Flash environmemt. Still have not found a
solution. Every Printer I work with has this capability on their non-Flash
sites. Is this still not possible with Flash 9? I have seen a couple limited
and incomplete workarounds, but no real usable solutions. It sure seems like
there would be more demand for this - especially from web designers and graphic
artists to need to transfer files back and forth with their clients (who
usually do not have FTP software).

Do you know of any solutions? I for one would pay for this solution if it
worked.

See the FileReference and FileReferenceList classes. In addition to those,
you could use a combination of Flash, with JavaScript and PHP to create a
more 'normal' uploader - what people did before FileReference.
