We have develop our websit in Flash 8.

We have some video on our website that can be viewed in a Flash player that we
have there.

The flash player have all buttons like Play, Forward, Stop etc.

But how can we have a button there that make the player to be shown in
Fullscreen?

Or enable the option that make our visitors to draw a corner of the player
window in order to make it bygger or smaler?

How can we enable the Fullscreen button on the flash player?

Hi farradel

Would you like doing a button with command to do a fullscreen?

If it is beat you to do in the next form in a button:

on (press) {
fscommand ("fullscreen", true);
}

To close be enough to put at the place of true put false

Sir,

Whatever we do. This code does not work. We have givin our player an instance
neme "OurPlayer". When we chose the player and hit F9 and then write the
following code. We then run the fla. file - and when we load the swf file to
the server nothing happen when vi try to dubbleclick on the player in order to
make the player to get into the fullscreen mode.

We vave tested with the following optiones:

on (press) {
_parent._parent.OurPlayer.fscommand ("fullscreen", true);
}

Or even this code:

on (press) {
OurPlayer.fscommand ("fullscreen", true);
}

or even this code:

on (press) {
fscommand ("fullscreen", true);
}

Hi farradel,

from your post i understand that you placed the code which foojol gave you on
the player instance it's self...??

If this is true, then thats why it doesnt work.
From memory, I dont think you can assign any functions to the player instance
it's self. The code which foojol gave you is meant to be on a button.
eg..
make a button (for full screen mode) , click on it, press F9, and enter the
code there.

also, from memory ( Ihavent used flash players in a long time) i think the
skins you have in Flash 8 include a Fullscreen Mode button.
Check the available skins. I could be wrong, but it's a standard option for
viewing videos, and I'm hoping that Macromedia hasn't forgotten that part. =)

Hope this helps.

Sir,

Thank you very much for your letter. But it still not work. We made a button
(imported it from "common libraries"->buttons) press F9 and tested all types
and different combinations of above code. But nothing happened.

In flash 8 there are no any creens with fullscreen button. Which is very
strange!!

But if we use action srips 3.0 and Flach CS3 then we can use few screens there
with fullscreens button at.

But we don't whant to upgrade our flash to CS3 edition.

fojool-br & Sketchsta, correct me if I'm wrong.

1) I thought fscommand works only on flash player window, not on web browser
window. It means, only when a flash projector exe, or a swf file opened in a
Flash Player window, but not a swf on website.

2) I never see any FLVplayback skin in Flash 8 with fullscreen mode button. I
though fullscreen mode works only in AS3, that mean Flash CS3; & FLVPlayback
component skin with fullscreen mode button also available only in Flash CS3 and
with AS3 flash file.

hi frank,
I can understand that upgrading to Flash CS3 is not your option. And the
entire site has been developed in AS2, it doesn't worth to change the entire
thing to AS3 just because of the player fullscreen.

The option that make visitors to draw a corner of the player window in order
to make it bigger or smaller is posible.

So, what should we do?

Everyday we see flash players on the Internet with a fullscreen button on the player (for example Youtube.com etc). How can we do the same?

Still confused.
I have the same problem with Design Premium with Flash CS3 Professional
Version 9.0 and Dreamweaver.
Can not find any component skin or anything to solve the problem. What to do?

As mentioned, to make a web based swf run be fullscreen, you need Flash CS3,
and the AS3 Flash document, and your visitor will need flash player 9 plugin
installed for their web browser.
Even in Flash CS3, your FLVPlayback won't have fullscreen mode if you create
Flash AS2 document.

I've replied your email.

We just test and tried out to upgrade our website code from Action Scripe 2 in
Flash 8 to Action Script 3 in Flash CS3.

We get somthing around 300 errors telling us that most of layers, scens and
component have not support for Action Scrip 3.

But we see that it's possible to choose lots of flash player sceens that have
fullscreen buttons available. (As long as we use Action Script 3).

But we dont want to change all the entier site to Flash CS3. It will take
sveral weeks to fix all those 300 errors!

Is it possible to just make a new flash players in Flash CS3 with Action
Script 3 with fullscreen option available while the rest of the website is
writen in Action Scrip 2 - and we just import that new flash player to our
existing .fla file?
