Hi J
Can you be more specific on your publishing problem?

Know that you must publish both the swf and the html files in the same folder or/and directory
Hope this helps

website of my own.. I want to put my flash that i made, and put it on a
website, i think they are called "Domains"?? Last time I made something, my bro

From the "File" menu, select "Publish". In the first window select to
publish an .swf and an .html file. Leave all of the rest of the settings
at their default for now. Click on the "Publish" button at the bottom of
that window.

Flash will create the two documents. You can then drag the html doc to a
browser window to see the result. If you like what you see, upload
both the swf and the html files to your server.

For more information and specifics about the other settings in the
Publish window, take a look at the online help.

I got all of this, but the "upload" part is what threw me off.. Little
explanation please?

(btw, i read this in an article i found by searching in google)

How you upload your files to your server is up to the hosting service
that you use. Some use a simple ftp connection, some have a web
interface of some sort.

Where is your website located?

Domain names and web hosting are two different things. You can use any
number of services to register a domain name: register.com, yahoo,
google, network solutions, godaddy, etc. They all do the same job. Some
are more expensive than others. I recommend that you register your
domain name youself with a reputable service, and not let the hosting
service do this.

You can find any number of hosting services that offer low cost starter
services. Nearly everyone on earth will host flash content. Look for a
hosting service that has a track record, you don't want a service that
just started last week, and may not be in business next week.

Hi Jay,
I agree too, i have 2 separate co. for the domain and hosting, I have been
with Network Solution for over 10 years as far as the domain name registration
( www.mon site . com ) they also offer a good hosting service, but i do not
know about their support;
For the hosting i am using a co. ( http://www.buzix.com ) they have been in
business for a long time, not the cheapest, but their packages are really good
and so is their support on line and on the phone
If i may suggest to avoid free stuff, it never works, and a lot of search
engine robots and spiders do not add them in their data base
Regards
G.

The only this you need to do is to upload BOTH your SWF and HTML files to the
server.
Do what Rob Dillan said to create your HTML file, then upload using the
methods supported by your host.
I usually upload via FTP, using Filezilla.

Im not too familiar with Dreamweaver, but I'm sure you can connect to your
domain and upload your content via FTP, through dreamweaver.
Simply make a new connection in Dreamweaver, supply the ADRESS to your host,
your USERNAME, and finally your login PASSWORD.
I think this is all you need with Dreamweaver.
Then click on something that says "upload" this should open up a new window
(if i remember correctly) this would be your FTP connection. you should be able
to simply DRAG n DROP your files ( swf and html ) to your chosen directory on
your server.

hope this sheds some light on your way to publishing!!
