Hi everyone.

I am a designer who just hired a Flash artist to create my entire site in
Flash.

I am disappointed with the way the animation works: it is slow and choppy and
embarrassingly amateurish looking. I'm not sure if this makes a difference, but
the artist imported all of my layered Illustrator artwork and used that
instead of creating the site right in Flash. He claims that there is
absolutely no way to improve the speed or fluidity of the motion. He tried
eliminating some frames, but that did nothing to improve it - in fact it made
it look worse. He cited many symbols and layers as the reason.

I don't know Flash from my XXX, so I thought I'd get some feedback from any of
you who do, and see if there actually IS hope to fix this up. I know that I've
seen fluid, beautiful Flash work on sites before.

Hi there. I"ve been away and just got your message now. Thanks for your reply!

I think what I'll do is wait for the artist to finish the site then send you
the link. I don't feel right about showing it to anyone while it still sits on
the artist's server and is still in progress.

Exporting Illustrator layers to swf's isn't a problem... he can alter that
within Flash, however if the artwork itself isn't up to par, then even great AS
code won't necessarily help.

Post when you can and maybe the group can make suggestions.
