I just screwed up. I built my static interface on my main timeline all on
keyframe 1. I made a copy of all the elements and pasted it on a new layer
calling it content. I then selected all that content and created a movie clip
called content so I could animate those elements in the movie clip.

Somehow now I don't have all those elements on the main timeline now. Is there
a way to paste everthing in place back in my main timeline? Is my movie going
to be effected without the interface elements on my main timeline?

uuuuuuuuh, I feel like I just jumped in cold water?

yes - Copy, then use "Paste in Place" (Ctrl + Shift + V).
