Embed Text Links Shifting on Rollover

| Hi folks. I've been losing quite too many nights trying to figure this out by
myself. I've tried Google and searching through previous Flash discussions
without success as well.
I have a simple SWF with text links. The text links are made up of an embedded
font. Upon rollover, I have a Flash 8 filter making the links glow. I have the
SWF embedded into a simple HTML file that scales the SWF to fit vertically.
Now the crazy part:
When rolling over these links, sometimes it functions perfectly, all you see
is the text glowing on rollover. Sometimes not. All you see is the text
shifting position, up, right, down, left, on rollover. Almost randomly upon
reload or resize each link decides if it will behave or not.
Have I missed something? Is this a well known bug? I am quite late with my
project.

| I only had problems with "Agriculture" and "Trade Union".
Have you made sure that the text is in the same position in each frame of your button. It looks like it got shifted in the over frame.

| Yep, I have. If you revisit it again, you will notice that upon each revisit -
restarting the browser - other links will act up while others will not shift.
Or they'll all stay put. Then they'll all will shift.
This problem is driving me to wit's end and I've explored so many avenues
trying to remedy it.

| Using Firefox i could never get any other buttons to messup....but when i used
IE only the top button messed up.
What version of flash are you using?
When you exported your .swf what version of flash player did you choose in the
export settings?
You could try choosing a different version of flash player whenyou export...if
you have not already tried that.

| Neat, which Firefox version are you using? I'm using Firefox 1.5.0.3 on XP.
In regard to exporting flash version, the older versions of flash wouldn't use
the glow filters for the rollover. And at the end of the day, using text +
filters, will allow me to have the client manage the links via external txt
file.

| I am using the same version of Firefox.
Have you tried using a different font? Maybe the problem is caused by the
fact that the font is embedded. Try something like Ariel...everyone that has
windows will have that font.
I know that you might want to use your specific font....but trying this might
help figureout the problem.
