Author importing graphics

I'm a graphic designer and I know how to work with images to create high
quality, but Flash isnt responding too well. I have all of my external images
imported into the library, and those files are 72 dpi jpgs or pngs at either
exactly the size I want to use them or larger. why are the text-based images,
like a logo, pixelated? and what can i do differently?

I don't think the dpi makes a difference.
Resizing isn't a specialist subject in Flash so do that stuff in Photoshop
first.
If you still get mass pixelation then look in
Publish Settings > Flash > JPEG Quality. The 'Compress Movie' option may be
a factor too but I've not noticed it yet.

Having said all I did in my last reply, I noticed some nasty pixel
misplacement so I may just stick to my general opinion that Flash is a sack
of $hit

I don't really understand what you are talking about?

What is the problem with quality on a picture if it is
imported to flash?

I can not see any quality different between a picture
published in a html-page or in a flash movie.

Have you exported the flash movie to the server and looked
at it really? If you look at the picture when doing
ctrl-enter when in flash then the picture is not of high
quality. Is that what you have done?

I have put a 2560 X 1920 with 72 dpi in a flash movie and
can absolutely not see any pixelating whatsoever.

The picture movie is about 1 MBytes and is here:

Read this article, it should help you out:

it's called "How to Solve Image Problems in Flash (for Great Justice)"

Good luck!

When you say "text-based images" do you mean jpgs or pngs like you have that
include text within the picture? And how large are you importing them at? Do
you have to resize the pictures larger or smaller to make them fit?
