I need to give my first "Flash" client a price. THe company requires I create
a flash site that looks precisely like their packaging(both front and back).
Some animation is involved, sound (character voice), a dynamic menu, some
graphic art is required, and establish the company's present on the www.
No html is involved, all is 100% flash. I would say this would be thought of a
middle of the road design. With about 4 to 6 swf or movieclips involved and to
purchase some additional components to do what is requested by the client.
Even if some one could give me a price scale, by site not by the hour since as
a beginner it takes me long to do things and figure things out. .

there is this book I ordered from barnes and nobles titled Pricing and
ethical guidelines. it's for graphic designers. I believe you can use this to
gage what you should charge. Again just like the guys at macromedia will tell
you there are a number of factors involved in telling someone what to charge a
client. I personally think you should stick to the hourly rate. If the client
likes your work then it shouldn't matter that it takes you longer. As long as
you feel you are being reasonable. But that's just my opinion
