Hello, im building a wed site in flash, using a 17inch monitor, i think though,
on a smaller screen, some of the site will be clipped, and out of view.

is there a way to combat this ?

it's not the monitor size to worry about - it's the display resolution (800x600, 1024 x 768, etc...).

So decide first what res to author too - most author to 1024x768 as this seems to be the most
popular but many still use 800x600 (dont know how or why but they do). I personally prefer 1600x1200
but most people think i am nuts.

i got these sizes from somewhere:

IE 5.x (Win)
600x275---760x395
NN 4.5+ (Win)
604x294---764x414
NN 4.0x (Win) (same as 4.5)
NN 4.5+ (Mac)
592x309---752x429
NN 4.0x (Mac)
582x315---742x435
IE 4.x (Win)
600x275---760x395
IE 4.5x (Mac)
563x318---723x438
IE 4.0x (Mac)
574x321---734x441

I don't think you should limit your site to compensate for small
screens. They can scroll and it won't be something new to them as I
am sure they are used to doing that.
