I purchased a flash website template and customized it myself. Now I want to
load it to my host so that when you visit the page, the flash movie plays and
all the site functions. The html file that gets published however seems to
just be one line of code repeated a whole lot and no real body of code. Why is
this happening and what can I do to fix it?

It might be the html that came with the template. Make sure it is the
new html that Flash makes. (Check the date/time stamp to be sure)
You might have html unchecked in Flash.
