Author preloader frame is huge - why?

Following almost every example I find, I "pushed over" my movie to frame 3, so
I could have a simple animated preloader in frame one, and checking in frame 2
via actionscript for frame 3 loaded completion. The movie is about 45kb total
size.

When I test my movie in the bandwidth profiler, which indicates how much data
needs to be loaded per frame, frame one seems to have alomst 40kb of the movie
in it. WHY WHY WHY? Frame three is where all that stuff resides. Obviously
frame one cannot do it's job of displaying load status if it has to first wait
for 40kb to download. I just don't get it. There is NOTHING in frame one but
that status rectangle symbol. Anything to do with libraries? Images?
Anything????
