Help with animation in Flash

I have been trying to design a Flash movie for about four months now. I have
the intro to the movie but my major problem is being able to animate my
characters. I need to know how to start from scratch. I tried to watch the
tutorial on the website but the sound doesn't link up with the tutorial and i
can't follow it. Please help!
