Hello

I am a new user to Flash MX 2004 and I was impressed when I saw some of the
websites on the internet. They mostly dealt with Flash which I knew nothing
about (I still dont know anything about Flash). Anyways I saved up some money
and went out and bought this program. When I came home and tried it I was
totally confused with all the buttons and menus. I need some VIsual guides on
how to make a flash website. The only problem is that I do not know where to
find them. I was hoping that any experienced or inexperienced members could
point me to some so I could download and learn how to make my own flash
website. Thank you and I hope someone answers me. :)

The site i recommend for any video tutorial is Lynda.com, it has a very decent membership price, with some excellent content.

Yes, there are quite a few, but if you want some major instruction and not just
here-and-there tutorials, lynda.com offers a great, cheap solution. (I am not
funded or involved in lynda.com other than obtaining tutorials)

Thank you guys for posting links and giving suggestions. I really appreciated it. I was mostly looking for Free Visual Guides since I am only 16. I blew all my money on flash. :-X

If you don't mind listeing to the Dutch comments,

www.bewired.nl

is a fine Flash tutorial site, wich uses Macromedia's Captivate desktop video tutorials

I still think that the best way to start with Flash is to use the Flash
built-in lessons. they are visual and really give you all basic knowledge
about "all the buttons and menus" ;) Anyways, that's how i learned it 4
years ago.

Once you're done with them, look around in internet and you'll find a plenty
of good tutorials on sites like www.flashkit.com and www.actionscripts.org -
start with the basic ones there, download source files and look how they are
made. Try to modify them and see what happens. Then ask yourself "What i
still can't do in Flash but would like to learn ?". Search for it on these
sites or the internet. Learn that. Repeat. I promise you, within a year
you'll be pretty good on that and in 2-3 years you'll be a pro.

Good luck !

Here's a few good tut sites.

The Pay Sites
www.lynda.com
www.vtc.com

The Free Sites
www.gotoAndLearn.com
www.flash-db.com
www.kirupa.com
www.macromedia.com/devnet/flash/actionscript.html

Hope you find this useful and don't forget to try a google search for whatever
it is your trying to do. You usually have to be a bit inventive as many of the
tutorials you find are incomplete or just wrong, but it truely does help you to
learn more about what you are doing to find these errors intentional or
otherwise.

look for information on the "principles of design", its very useful if you don't know much about designing websites.

Thanks to all of you for posting some feedback and links to tutorials. I checked them all out and like just about all of them. Kirupa.com has some good tutorials. I actually understood them. :)
