Reveal the image underneath?

| What I want to do is have an eraser like icon move across an image, and
where-ever the trail goes, it will reveal an image that was underneath the
original image. Can anyone help me out on how to do this, or point me in the
direction of a good tutorial, or atleast give me a term for what this might be
called?

It is called the 'scratch off' effect, like for lottery tickets. I
have seen tutorials for that somewhere.
