I'm looking for a tutorial that show me how to make a movie clip button that
has certain text on it, but when clicked shows different text on it. Like this

Button initally sais, "Start"

When the button is clicked then the text should change to say "Stop"

I know 3 things, this is really easy, this is done with movie clips and 3,
this is evading me :0)

TIA

I did this by using a 0 Alpha button over the top of a movie clip. The movie
clip has two frames, each of which have a stop(); action in them. When you
press the invisible button overlay it tells the movie clip to play, which
advances it to the next frame. The drawback of this method is that you can't
use the button's "over" state to have a mouseover animation. I'll keep playing
with this to see if I can figure out a better way...
