I'm not very skilled at Flash but I understand the basics. I recently purchase
a Flash template for my site. However, I can't seem to solve one problem...
I have 5 buttons on my page and want to create a sixth. I simply copy "BUTTON
2" and paste it to create "BUTTON 6". Every time I modify "BUTTON 6" if affects
"BUTTON 2". I just want both buttons to be treated differently so that I can
change one and have the other remain the same. I can't seem to get around it
and it's really starting to bug me. I spent many hours trying different
experiments. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Don't copy and paste the button. Go into your library right click on one of
the buttons and select 'duplicate' name the button what ever you want then
drag the new button you just created from the library onto the stage. Now
make your edits to your new button.

Alternatively if you happen to have already copied and pasted your buttons
throughout your site you can leave them where they are, select each one and go
to Modify>Symbol>Duplicate Symbol. This will then go through the same process
as duplicating it from the library (i.e. creating a different but identical
button rather than a copy of the same button) and you will give the selected
button a new name, but without you having to go through the effort of putting
them all in place from scratch.

This may or may not be of use, depending on where you are with it! :beer;
