I am working with an FLA website template that I purchased.....after some
tinkering, I seem to have gotten the hang of things, but I'm stuck on a major,
and relatively basic, issue.....

Seems that the template has the core content for each of the site's pages
placed in one single layer, laid out along the movie timeline (hence, the
content -- which is primarily composed of dynamic text/image fields -- changes
at particular frames), with the buttons on the navigation bar referencing those
frames. so far so good.

Where my confusion comes in is how I isolate each individual series of frames
to modify fields and make edits to those pages, without screwing up the entire
layer.......this seems pretty basic, so please excuse my ignorance -- if
someone could just point me in the right direction, I'd be tremendously
grateful.....

Thanks :confused;

I'm not sure, but it sounds like all your content is in a single movieclip
(crossing my fingers that the rest of this isn't just a waste of text). What
you want to do is double click on the movieclip, which will bring up another
timeline, which hopefully will have each part of the template in different
frames. If not, I suggest searching either Google or Macromedia to learn how
to control movie clips with actionscipt, because that's what it sounds like is
going on.

Hope I was helpful
