| Hello all,
Im a newbie at FLASH but have spent many long hours over the last 3 months
reading books and various websites on how to go about using FLASH. I am in
the process of developing a complete FLASH site and am beginning to worry
about the escalating file size!
The site is basically 1 FLA file which when published creates a 4.5MB SWF
file. Im developing the site for a Greek company. Most of the Greek Internet
users are still using dial-up modem connections which is the reason for my
concern as it would take well over 15 mins to completely download the file
so a user can see the site (which is unacceptable).
I have been reading up on how I can introduce loader bars to show the user
that the site is downloading but this too will not solve my problem. From
what I can understand the site needs to be broken into sections - but how
can this be done when all the 7 scenes share 1 common library and all the
actionscript that has been included has references to frame names within the
scenes that make up the movie/site.
Can ANYONE provide we with good suggestions/advise on how to tackle this
problem. I would not like to see all my hard work shelved because the file
is simply toooooo big.
Any help would be much appreciated
regards
