deleting jpge backgrounds

| Is there any way to easily delete the background on an imported jpeg in
flash. My jpeg is some beveled and drop-shadowed text in photoshop.
When I import it to Flash I get a white background with the text. I
want to delete the white background so I only see the text. Is this
possible? Using the eraser tool is tedious and the result is less than
desirable, with uneven and hard edges. Thanks in advance.

| do select all and save the content of the move and then past it into another
blank move and you will not save the jpgs that are not being used...bygeorge

| Tried this but it did not work. The jpeg is still one piece, text with
a white box for a background.

Don't think this can be done from the Flash Side...
In Photoshop, however, you could save the Bevelled Text Graphic (with
Transparent BG) as a ".png" file as the Ping format retains the transparency
of the image - then import the graphic into Flash...
