best pixel size to use with text
|
|
|
| hello,
I think I heard somewhere once that there specific pixel sizes that are best
to use in flash (or html) text so that the text appears bright and crisp
without that fuzzy edges flash creates.
in my case I am using Ariel 11 px font which I tried exporting as anti alias
and without anti alias and in both cases looks bad.
so, is there a preferred font size to export in flash?
thanks,
Mic

| well not really but normaly you have to go with a text that looks crisp on the page when you insert it, if you do this there should be no problem with the blurry text. because as you may know everything is vectored. but depending on the size of the document you may choose a font that suits it best.

| I think it really depends on the font face. And the smaller you go, you
probably want to go without the anti-aliasing (as you surmised). Try even point
sizes. Also try to place the text on a round pixel measurement (e.g. 80, not
80.5).
If you need to really go small, look into pixel fonts. One good resource is
Fonts for Flash.
Cheers!

| I use Verdana, 11px dynamic fonts for my website. Use the same for HTML content as well.

| thanks...
the best solution was to use the "sans_serif" option in the font list. I
could use a small size text without breaking the font.
