i am new to flash and i do'nt see the options menu at all on the library panel. is there a way to bring it up by resetting default settings or any any other solution.

yeah mate if you hold control and then press l (ctrl+L) if will bring up the librarys screeen and then in the top corner of that screen there will be a whole dotted triangle hold the left mouse down on that and drag it to the side panel where you want it. that will put it there and should keep it there.

Hang on i think i missunderstood your question are you trying to change the properties of the item that you are making or trying to change the options of Flash. if you want to change the properties of the object that you are playing with you will see it at the bottom of the screen the options for the object.

Dear Friend.

sorry for the acknowledgement of your mail. was caught up with some personal work.

my query is: when you drag an object to the library panel, it will say one item in your library. to the right of it you should see an options menu flyout as per all the turorial lying around on the internet.
in my case it's totally missing. if it's grayed out i know how to activate it but i do'nt see it at all.

ok well when you right click on the Library Item there should be a menu come out there is another way if that isnt working: Select the item that you want to change and then at the top right hand corner of the library there will be a little pic which looks like some text with bullet points and a down arrow click that and a menu will come up. also you do not have to drag items to the library to put them there if you right click on the object on the design panel (your normal drawing panel) and then go to convert to symbol this is doing the same thing.
