Author totally cool effect...how'd they do it?

I'm wanting to create a slideshow that isn't the standard fade in/out job. I
stumbled upon this site today: http://www.tonygarcia.com and got sweaty with
excitement!

Has anyone seen this effect before? Can anyone offer suggestions on how to do
it? Direct me to a tutorial that would help? Give me their own just like it
;) ...

Thanks much!

its a filmstrip interface... I don't know of any published tutorials on
it... wrote a simple version of it myself... built entirely in AS, the
finished swf is barely 2k in size. All images are loaded in from the
outside. Tony's is more elegant...

In my implementation you have a filmstrip container under a mask...
individual images are loaded into the filmstrip and the filmstrip clip
is just slid back and forth under the mask...

Final version is not yet posted, but here is a prelim...

Hi,

It do really look cool :)
As far as i known, Flash SlideShow Builder(developed by Wondershare)
may help you do this, you have beyond 200 transition effects. Just get
it a try from http://www.flash-slide-show.com

flash 8 has a blur function - could be done with that. or could be a blurred
version of each photo created separately and placed on top of the sharp version
- then just masked out for the current photo.

good luck,
