| Well, I can't say for sure, but every time I ever got the 'undefined' error
while pulling up an external text file, it was due to the simple fact that the
text file being accessed did not start with '&content=' (do not include the
quotation marks). Again, I can't say for sure that this is your problem, but
I'd say it would certainly be a decent place to start. My bet is that this is
the culprit, and there is probably nothing wrong with your fla file. Without
that opening string in the text file, flash doesn't know what data to show,
hence the error message of 'undefined'. Hope that helps, :ViPER:

| xViPERed, Thanks a lot for your thoughts. In fact you were right that I needed
to add something at the beginning of my text. In this particular case, it
turns out the program has a parameter for that starter word. You can set the
name of this parameter. Assuming you use the default name of myPageVar, then
if I add: 'myPageVar=' to the beginning of my text file, it works. Again.
thanks for your help. Bijan

| No problem, I'm glad I could at least help steer you in the right direction.
I've never used that component, so I wasn't exactly sure what you would need to
get the job done. I know that if you just use a normal textbox loader component
to call the external text file, the '&content=' at the start of the text
file will also work . Thanks for the heads up about being able to use the
variable name to start the text file. :ViPER:
