ive had similer problems with flash mx 2004, i used the get url script try this
(a shot in the dark)

on(release){getURL("mailto:address@blah.com", window);
}

goodluck, if it doesnt work fool around with it a bit and/or try the flash
troubleshooting tips on macromedia's website!
