Author Compression of Video using the FLV 2-Pass Video Updater

I can't seem to compress my video FLV files using the new 2-Pass Video
Updater. It will not compress in 2-Pass. 1-Pass is fine, but is very
blocky or large depending upon the Kbyte and Keyframe settings... I'm using
After Effect 6 and Discreet Cleaner. I have the same problem in both.
What's wrong? Thanks.
