| Hi,
http://www.hartpeople.com/grind.html is nowhere near complete, and is already
2.6MB. I have duplicated one movieclip for the six menu items, coded them to
increase xscale and yscale on press and back to original scale on release.
There is one dynamic text field that changes with each press. I have a couple
of large images in there that I plan to size down in photoshop. My question
is: How much file size is involved in resizing images within flashmx? Will
importing the images already sized to what I need make that much difference?
Also, will the movie start loading images if I have each image start in its
own frame? It takes about 8 seconds before anything comes up at all, and then
it comes up all at once (it's a one frame movie).
Thanks,
Pazzoboy

| If you embed the jpegs in flash they will compress to the percentage
compression that you set in the publish settings,
however - I recommend that you do ALL your image manipulation in Photoshop
(or other image app) before you embed in flash as the results are much
crisper and way more professional and then keep jpeg quality at 100% in
Flash.
The small images you have for your buttons should compress down to about 5k
each no problem.
The large background images should compress to <80kb - still quite large.
hth,
Ed
