Newbie Problems With First Attempt At A Button

| I am trying to create a menu bar at www.tastymota.com/pfp2/index.htm
My goal is to create transparent buttons, as seen by the Menu PNGs at the
top that fill the cell they are in with a semi transparent coloured hue when
the mouse moves over them. (I hope that makes sense). The goal I am trying
to achieve is similar to that seen at the McDonald's Flash website.
I'm fairly new to Flash and having watched the 4 tutotorial videos from the
Macromedia site I thought I'd give this a go!
The files that I have messed up on so far are at
www.tastymota.com/pfp2/firstgo.fla and www.tastymota.com/pfp2/firstgo.swf
I cannot seem to make the movie start when the mouse is placed over the
WHOLE movie rather than just the grey background, coupled with this as soon
as the mouse interferes with the MENU button the movie goes bonkers. And
the movie plays form the start without me asking it too AND the background
isn't transparent!!
I'm in a bad way I know, but everyone has to learn somewhere right? ANY
help on any of my issues would be greatly appreciated; this sad effort could
make or break my enthusiasm to learn Flash properly!
Also if anyone can recommend any good video tutorials, either to buy or
download I'd be very grateful.
Thanks in advance,
Lloyd

| i'm not sure exactly what you're trying to do here..... if you what to
acomplish the same thing like McDonalds.com, you'll need to get into
getBounds(); and such. you can use the help files to show you how it works....
but, go to this web site, it may help you find what you're looking for.

[l=www.flashkit.com]www.flashkit.com[/l]
hope that can give you a lead.

Sorry maybe I have given the wrong impression, the effect I am after is the
one on www.mcdonalds.co.uk - when the flash site has loaded up - the buttons
at the top that have colours fly in onmouseover :D
Thanks for your help, I'm gonna check out those sites anyway!
