This topic is related to all newsgroups that I posted:
(macromedia.dreamweaver, macromedia.fireworks, macromedia.flash,
macromedia.flash.sitedesign) . It really doesn't make any sence to post it 4
times rather than cross posting to 4 groups.

I would be agree with you if someone posts an unrelated topic or ads to a
newsgroup.

Allan,

It does not matter how you feel about it , macromedia forum posting rules clearly state do not cross
post messages.

Which part you don't understand ?

Possibly you are referring to this on the Web site:
"Don't cross-post. Posting a message to more than one forum is
unnecessary and creates extra traffic for you and others to read
through."

Or this in the posted FAQ.
"6:PLEASE DON'T CROSS-POST
Most people read more than one forum. Please don't make them read your
post
more than once."

If by 'forum' is meant the Web forums then the rules may well be
sensible, but they don't make sense for newsgroups.

It may well be rarely necessary for a given question to be asked in
different news groups but how does cross-posting create extra traffic?
One message is posted, and one message is downloaded irrespective of how
many of the cross-posted groups an individual may subscribe to.

Nobody has to read a post more than once as when it's read in one group
it is automatically marked as read in the other groups because there is
only one post to read.

Well , web based forum is just a fraction of macromedia forums .
New group has existed for past 6 years.
Majority of us has to download the post on every single of this forums.

Any way , apparently there it too big bone between ears to even try to explain common sense and
basic code of conduct and lack of concern toward other participants.

Twit Filter ON

actually your post is off-topic on all macromedia groups. if you wanna
ask a question about graphics go to an alt.graphics.* or comp.* graphics
group.

have you ever heard of netiquette? since the dawn of usenet (decades
ago) it has been a rul not to cross-post, unless really neccessary. try
stick to those rules.

I'll take this is a rhetorical question.

Agreed, and I said in my post "It may well be rarely necessary for a
given question to be asked in different news groups".

I didn't make the original cross-post. If *you* wish to curtail a
cross-post then set the "Followup-to" in the header.

It's also a rule that if you use a signature, then you put it below a
SIG separator.

asking for clip art sites is not on topic in any of these groups, really.

i'm not sure in which group the original post was.
