Newbie Swap Symbol Question

| I made a movie clip with several layers which I want to make dupes of
with different symbols (based on text)
I simply want to dupe the button and then for each layer swap out the
symbol.
I can't seem to find an easy way to do this for the entire layer's
keyframes and instead have to select each keyframe and then swap
symbol. If I do multi-frame and select, the Swap Symbol button is
de-activated. Any thoughts appreciated.

| Hi,
if i'm getting you right, you just want to change a particular aspect of a
movieClip, and don't want to copy and paste the contents in a new movieClip
again and again, right?
You can duplicate the movieClip in the library. Go to library (Ctrl +L or
Window-->Library), right-click on your MovieClip and choose 'duplicate'. Rename
the new-duplicated MC to whatever name you want.
Does that answer your question?
Cheers,
FF

| Hi, thanks, but I am one step past that. I duplicated the movie-clip
and now want to change the symbols used by the duped clip but keep the
anim, right now I have to selecte each keyframe in each layer and
swap, I want to just select an entire layer and swap the symbol (gets
kind of old swapping out 10-20 keyframes for 10-20 layers)
Thanks

| i think u have to swap the symbol individually.. there is no option to swap all the symbols together.
